Vignamaggio traces its roots to 1404 — one of the oldest documented wine-producing estates in Tuscany, sitting at the heart of the Chianti Classico zone in Greve. The estate farms over 70 hectares organically, and ownership passed to Patrice Taravella in 2014, bringing renewed focus to the full range.

Mezzanotte — “midnight” in Italian — is a Toscana Rosso IGT blending the red-fruit brightness and structure of Sangiovese with the rounder, darker body that Merlot contributes. Aged 12 months in French oak. The 2018 vintage was a five-star year for Greve: Merlot in particular excelling, with characteristic harmony and unexpected freshness throughout.
